With the recent closing of the White Haven Ambulance service in Luzerne County steps were taken to provide adequate coverage to the area. On Thursday 3/15/12 the Supervisor's of Kidder Township Carbon County appointed LHRS the primary response ambulance to all 72 square miles of Kidder Township or the whole Northern sector of Carbon County as it is.
Also, today 3/19/12 the Pennsylvania Turnpike has appointed LHRS the primary response ambulance for nearly 18 miles of roadway which stretch from the 87 mile marker in Mud Run to the Wilkes-Barre Interchange at the 105 mile marker.
With these changes there will also be some restructuring of the response cards and mutual aid to the area. Chief Steranko is currently working with area agencies and township officials to work out the best possible responses from surrounding ambulance services. Once a decision has been made and the run cards changed we will update everyone through here and on our facebook page.
